To the newbies: Welcome! Today is the start of something fun. Pop across to our reviews when you get a minute. Our deliciously proven lamb spit recipe, and our absolute desire to push the boundaries of #ServiceEnjoyment have made things really busy & exciting around here. We went so far as to enrol the services of a professional logistics & supply-chain expert from Oxford in England (Tim MacIntyre) in December 2014 to help us tweak, fine-tune & improve on our processes to ensure a more efficient operation behind the scenes; the benefits which will be transferred onto you.
Where did it all start?
Few people know that Spit Braai Delivery was founded by absolute chance (some have in fact called it luck). I was asked to MC a corporate end-of-year function, and the menu: a delicious Lamb spit buffet… A true South African favourite, delivered to the function already prepared, de-boned, basted & ready to eat – served straight from perfectly heated bains-marie’s (silver chafing dishes). Self service in it’s simplest form.
The idea of “Spit Braai Delivery in Cape Town” stole my heart immediately, and being a digital marketing person, I teamed up with a chef. 48 hours later we had a basic website, an incredibly delicious secret lamb spit recipe, and a R2’000 shoe-string budget for marketing. My only hope at that point was that our product & service would be somewhat appealing to the people of Kaapstad. Apparently it is…
2014 saw a number of exciting new developments. We launched our Facebook page, and our first competition became an unexpected hit reaching 70’000 people – according to Facebook. Callum Rogers (Our Grand Master of Customer Delight) joined #TeamSBD early in 2014, and when you talk to him you’ll realise why his title has such a definitive description. We also launched our first community project called #HappyTaxi & recruited the most unbelievable team of Patriots who deliver your meals with love. Our team of chefs has also grown to 4, which has naturally improved our planning & service delivery.

I wanted to launch an advert with personality, so I asked a puppet to record my script. This was the end result.
Google have also kindly placed Spit Braai Delivery at the top of Google for quite a number of searches

I know the feeling of astonishment and excitement every time I’m on the other end of extraordinary service, and that’s what we’ll always strive for – to push the boundaries of service excellence, constantly aiming to exceed your expectations. For sure, we don’t claim to be perfect, but we are on the journey to get real close – we continue to try & test new found calculated methods to get better. Each and every order gives us that little bit more wisdom to ensure we’re always improving.
